Mr. Jacobs’s primary areas of practice include real estate, commercial lending, banking and commercial litigation.  Mr. Jacobs has considerable experience in commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions, and the coordination and management of complex litigation.  He also has significant experience in forming and structuring limited partnerships and limited liability companies.  He represents landlords and tenants in commercial lease matters and represents clients with their ongoing business activities and general contract matters.  Mr. Jacobs has represented financial institutions in lending, general contract, aviation and regulatory matters and has prepared various loan document templates for lenders.  Mr. Jacobs speaks fluent Spanish and has considerable experience in cross-border business and real estate transactions in Mexico. Earlier in his career, Mr. Jacobs worked in the Dallas office of Andrews & Kurth LLP as a member of its real estate section.

Education:  Mr. Jacobs is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (B.A. History, 1993); and the University of Texas School of Law (J.D. 1998).

Reported Cases:  Jacobs v. National Drug Intelligence Center, 423 F.3d 512 (5th Cir. 2005).

Recognition:  Mr. Jacobs was named a Texas “Rising Star” by Texas Monthly Magazine and Texas Super Lawyers Magazine in 2005 and 2009.
